Jeremy will be hosting a two-day portrait painting masterclass at Julie Peadon Art gallery and studio in Drummoyne, held over the weekend of 13th & 14th of December 2025.
The course is designed to guide participants through his complete painting method.
On the first day, participants will learn how to construct a strong tonal underpainting, working from a photograph, establishing form and structure in monochrome. This foundational step is the key to creating convincing realism, Jeremy will demonstrate the process with live demonstrations and hands-on instruction.
The second day focuses on glazing, building translucent colour layers and developing detail, edge control and texture to bring the portrait to life. Throughout the course, Jeremy will share his insights into mixing limited colours for skin tones and working from photographic references.
The workshop is suitable for artists of all levels. In addition to technique, Jeremy will offer advice drawn from his own professional experience from preparing works for major prizes like the Archibald Prize, to dealing with rejection, finding sitters and forming meaningful relationships with galleries.
